Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan visited the house of slain Kolakkadan brothers on Friday. The visit has political importance as the police almost closed investigation into the role of P K Basheer MLA in the case. The special investigation team has not got any clue connecting the MLA in the case yet.
“Government has taken the decision to save the MLA from the case. His involvement in the crime is evident from the testimony of one of the witnesses in the case. But the police has not arrested him yet,” V S alleged.
CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was also attended a protest march organised by DYFI at Areekode in the matter a few days ago.
CPM district committee had also conducted a march to the District Police Chief’s office in Malappuram demanding the arrest of the MLA.
CPM has decided not to give up the agitation against P K Basheer on the issue.
The visit of V S Achuthanandan might fume the issue once again.
