Opposition’s privilege notice against PC George

V S Sunil Kumar MLA on Wednesday issued a notice for breach of privilege against Government Chief Whip P C George for his insinuations  against the Opposition, while levelling charges against Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar on Tuesday.  It was when CPM’s V Chenthamarakshan was speaking on the notice seeking for the Adjournment Motion on the government’s alleged surrender in front of  private estate owners in the Nelliyampathy region that P C George alleged that the adjournment motion was sponsored by the Minister himself.

Sunil Kumar told the House and again during the news conference held at the media room of the Assembly that the government Chief Whip had tried to blackmail the entire Opposition through the statement made with ‘’malicious intention.’’

He alleged that George had tried to deny the Constitutional rights of the Opposition MLAs.  Earlier, Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan had raised a point of order on the issue after the presentation of the submissions.
