Excel-2012 beckons tech geeks

Students of Government Model Engineering College (MEC), Cochin and Litmus7 will jointly host three-day Excel-2012, the annual techno-managerial fest of the college.

The 13th edition of the annual fest, hosted in association with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, will be held from September 27 to 29 and will incorporate talks, workshops, seminars and competitions of all genres.

Excel brings together technology enthusiasts and engineering lovers from colleges across the country to innovate, engineer, inspire and be inspired.

This time, Excel will introduce a new venture IBETO- Innovations for a BEtter TOmorrow; a competition to identify the best of the technical innovations in the country. Interested participants must send the abstract of a genuine technical project that can bring about a positive impact on society. Five shortlisted abstracts will be provided funding and mentoring necessary for the completion of the project.

The best project will receive a cash prize of `1 lakh. The last date for abstract submission is July 20.
