One held for duping job aspirants

The Nemom police have arrested a quack Ayurveda doctor on charges of  fleecing almost Rs 1 crore from more than 50 people after offering them jobs in banks and government departments.

Krishna Kumar, 40, a native of Kottayam, who has been running an Ayurvedic massage centre near Karakamandapom, was arrested the other day on the basis of a compliant lodged by the wife of a policeman.  According to police, the arrested person fleeced almost Rs 2.5 lakh from a woman after promising her of a job in a bank.

Krishna Kumar had introduced himself as the director board member of a private scheduled bank to the woman and earned her trust. Later, the woman got suspicious about the person and lodged a compliant at Nemom police station.

After arresting Krishna Kumar and questioning him, Nemom police found that he had embezzled money from almost 60 people in the same fashion.

He used to conduct recruitment in posh hotels. After giving job promises to the job aspirants, he collected huge cash from them.

To earn the trust of the people, he even handed over ‘appointment orders’ to some people. The arrested was sent to remand.
