Shukkoor case: SIT to grill Rajesh

The police team investigating the Shukkoor murder case has decided to question T V Rajesh MLA on July 29. The date fixed earlier by the police for the interrogation of the DYFI leader was July 27, but this had to be postponed, according to police sources.

The police couldn’t question him earlier as he had informed the former that he wouldn’t be available for questioning since he had to attend the assembly session. The Kannur district secretary of the CPM, P Jayarajan, was questioned twice by the police in connection with the murder of Muslim League worker Abdul Shukkoor.

According to the police sources, P Jayarajan is likely to be questioned once again on the basis of the information expected to be obtained from the interrogation of T V Rajesh MLA. Meanwhile, a meeting of senior police officials was held here on Monday to review the progress of the investigation of the Shukkoor murder.

Most of the culprits involved in the murder of Abdul Shukkoor had already been arrested by the police. The police are yet to get any solid evidence concerning the conspiracy angle of the murder.
