Mud-slinging won’t help film industry, says dileep

Super stars are the backbone of the film industry as it is relying heavily on them, said state award-winning actor Dileep.  “I am not for any kind of controversy on the film awards. Everyone has the freedom to criticise,” he clarified his stand while addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday.

“I consider the opinion of actor Thilakan as the view of an elder member of the

film fraternity,” he commented on the veteran’s reaction on the state film awards, especially on choosing Dileep as the best actor. “I don’t have any personal contact with any of the jury members. The award is the result of the sincere job I have done,” he said.

He added that he does not have any problems with actor Salim Kumar for his allegations against the jury. “I have conveyed this to Salim Kumar,” Dileep said. “The mud-slinging at each other won’t help any one or the industry in particular”, he opined.  “I had selected my role in the movie ‘Vellaripravinte Changathi’ as I was confident about it. It was a flop at the box office because of the failure in marketing, he said.
