‘Samavarthanam-2012’ held

The third graduation ceremony of Amrita School of Ayurveda, ‘Samavarthanam 2012’, was held here on Saturday. Health Minister V S Sivakumar inaugurated the ceremony.

The Minister said that the State Government will support the efforts undertaken to promote ayurveda. Modern studies have proved that ayurveda is an effective treatment for numerous ailments. “While there is a dearth of quality institutions to imbibe ayurvedic education, private institutions play a great role in this field,” the Minister said. The Minister urged the 60 fresh graduates of the institution to take up the profession as a social service and serve the needy. “Newly graduated doctors should approach the profession as a social service to serve the needy,” the Minister said. The principal of Ayurveda College Dr B Shyamala advocated the oath. Swami Shankarachaitanya, director, Amrita School of Ayurveda distributed the graduation certificate. Meritorious students were felicitated during the function. Dr T Sivadasan, director of Ayurveda Medical Education presided over the function. Dr Hareendran Nair, who has received the Padamsree honour, was felicitated at the function.  

Swami Amritakripanandapuri, Dr Vishnu Unnikrishnan addressed the ceremony.
