A fishing boat caught fire at the Thottappally harbour near here on Monday. The accident occurred when the boat Arackal 2, owned by James of Ambalappuzha, was preparing to go for fishing. The seven fishermen, who where on board at the time of the accident, escaped. The deck of the boat has been fully gutted.
The Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Alappuzha reached the spot and put out the fire. Ambalappuzha Coastal police registered a case in this connection and have began probe into the incident.
