Skipping ‘Emerging Kerala’ meet not deliberate: P C George

Government Chief Whip P C George on Wednesday downplayed the reports that he deliberately refrained from attending the ‘Emerging Kerala’ investors’ meet held in Kochi on Wednesday.

He said he had earlier committed to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of S N Law College, Kollam, and hence had to keep away from the Kochi function. George was speaking to reporters along with SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan at Kottayam while on the way to attend another function organised by SNDP Yogam at Kunnonny near Erattupetta.

“I got the invitation to participate in the ‘Emerging Kerala’ meet. However, I don’t feel sad for not attending it. The presence of P C George is not inevitable there,” he said, requesting the reporters not to spread misleading reports. Earlier, there were reports that he had deliberately refrained from the function because of some personal issues.

Vellappally said that he had ensured George’s presence at the function months ago.
