Cheap LPG for government hotels

The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) would provide liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at domestic rates to the budget hotels  to be set up by the state government at the headquarters of taluks, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy after holding talks with R K Singh, chairman and managing director, BPCL.

As a major solution to the power crisis in the state, the government is planning a 300-MW power plant using petcoke to be produced from the Kochi Refinery after the completion of the expansion plans of the refinery.

Excise Minister K Babu also took part in the discussions.
