Solar power project: MoU to be signed with Korean firm

The State Government will sign an MoU with Korean Company Tanjong Energy Pvt Ltd which has agreed to invest in a 330-MW solar power project in the state.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the Korean company had held discussions with the Electricity Minister and KSEB regarding the project and had set a timeframe of three months for producing 30 MW of power. The price of electricity will be either Rs 3.25 per unit or as fixed by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission whichever is less. An agreement in this regard would be signed at the earliest.

Guru’s Teachings

As per the recommendation of the expert committee headed by M K Sanu, it has been decided to introduce the teachings and philosophy of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru in the school curriculum from next academic year onwards.
