Arun Kumar can go abroad: HC

The Kerala High Court on Friday permitted Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan’s son V A Arun Kumar to visit Thailand to attend an international conference on Bio-informatics in his individual capacity. The court however made it clear that he cannot represent the state and IHRD and present any proceedings in the conference in his official capacity.

Justice P R Ramachandra Menon passed the order while considering a petition filed by Arun seeking to quash the government’s decision to reject his request for sanction to go Thailand to attend the seminar. The state government had declined permission for a foreign visit citing the pendency of vigilance inquiry against Arun.
