Ramesh challenges CPM to face bypoll

KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala challenged the CPM to face a by-election in Angamaly constituency. Inaugurating  a function organised to felicitate V D Satheesan MLA on his appointment as AICC secretary, Ramesh asked why the CPM and LDF are keeping mum on the sex scandal against Jose Thettayil MLA.

 “CPM and LDF, the so called protectors and advocates of morality are keeping mum on the issue related to the scandal against their sitting MLA. Why did the CPM not demand the resignation of Thettayil? UDF challenges CPM to face a by-election in Angamali constituency after the resignation of Jose Thettayil”.

Chennithala further demanded that the LDF should stop interrupting procedures in the Assembly, especially since a lot of issues faced by people are to discussed, he said. Referring to the controversial solar scam, the KPCC president agreed that Congress and UDF were facing its toughest time ever.

 ‘’We are facing a situation similar to that of ‘Padmavyooham’. There is a conspiracy to tarnish the image of UDF government and its ministers. None of the accused in the solar scam will be allowed to escape’’, he said. He also exhorted congress workers to be vigilant and  restrain from activities that may tarnish the image of the party and the government. ‘’We should face this situation united’’ he said.

Ernakulam DCC president V J Paulose presided over the function. Excise, Fisheries and Ports Minister K Babu, Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies K V Thomas, UDF convener P P Thankachan  MLAs V P Sajeendran, Hibi Eden, Benny Behanan and Joseph Vazhakkan and Mayor Tony Chammany were also present at the function.
