Sasthamkotta police on Thursday arrested the father of two girl children for allegedly raping the elder daughter. Thomas, 35, of Muthupilakkadu near Sasthamkotta, was arrested for raping his nine-year-old daughter and also for forcing his younger seven-year-old daughter to perform an obscene act.
“He was missing with his elder daughter since November 7. The mother of these children filed a complaint and we started investigating it. It was also revealed that their daughters were sexually abused by Thomas in the past,” the ASI of Sasthamkotta Police Station said.
Cyber Police later traced them to Kudagu district and the police arrested them from there.
Child Welfare Department and Woman SI questioned the child and it was found that she was raped by her father at Kudagu.
Police registered a case against him under sections 376 for rape and 377 for involving in sex with minor, of IPC and also under Protection of Child from Sexual Offence Act.
In the meantime, Thomas tried to commit suicide at the police station by slitting his vein. But the timely intervention of police rescued him.
