The police, on Thursday, filed chargesheet against solar panel scam accused Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha S Nair in the case pertaining to the duping of `12 lakh after offering franchisees of Team Solar Company.

Thamarassery DySP Jaison K Abraham, who is heading the special team probing the cheating of various persons in the name of solar plant installation by the duo in the district, submitted the charge sheet in which Saritha is the first accused, Biju K R alias Biju Radhakrishnan, the second accused and Manimon Kochi, the third accused, before the Koyilandy Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.

Sections 406, 420, 419, 120 A and 201 of the IPC were charged against the accused. Elathur Police registered the case against Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha following a complaint from Vincent Simon, of Mokavoor, Eranhikkal. According to the charge sheet, Saritha had approached the victim as Lakshmi Nair, zonal manager of the Team Solar Company, while Biju Radhakrishnan had introduced himself as K B Nair or Biju Nair. They collected `12 lakh from him on December 2011 after offering him franchisees of their company, Team Solar Renewable Energy Solutions, in Palakkad and Thrissur. But even after two months, Vincent received no information from the duo about the franchisee deal. When he demanded the money back, he was given a post-dated cheque for the amount.

However, the cheque bounced. Manimon, hailing from Kochi, arranged fake identity cards for the duo to commit the fraud. The investigators could not recover the money as the accused had spent it for various purposes. The special investigation team headed by DySP Jaison Abraham is also investigating two more cases registered by the Kasaba police and Vadakara police in the district.

The charge sheet preparation of other cases is in the final stage, said the DySP.
