Wasnik flays stir against Chandy

The move of the LDF to disrupt the mass contact programme of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is anti-constitutional, said AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik, who is in charge of the state.

He was speaking at the national workshop on ‘social media’ organised by the IT Cell of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee here on Thursday.

“The Opposition is showing a negative approach in the state. Congress workers should make effective use of social media as campaigning tools in the upcoming Lok Sabha poll. The public should come to know of the stand of the Congress on public issues including local issues through the social media. But it should be ensured that the information transmitted is factual and true,’’ Wasnik said. KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala said that Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was using social media to prop up his image  with the help of corporates. Attempts to create a negative picture of the Congress should be countered through social media, he said.

Selected representatives from various districts took part in the workshop.
