The LDF state committee has decided to lay siege to Cliff House, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s official residence, from December 9 seeking his resignation in the solar scam. LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan told reporters here on Monday that the LDF would meet again on November 18 to decide on the number of activists in the agitation and other modalities.

Ahead of the siege, rallies will be held in two zones from November 1 to 13. The North zone rally that starts from Kasargod and ends at Thrissur will be led by CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, while the one in the south zone from Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram will be led by CPI leader C Divakaran. Black flag demonstrations against Chandy would continue till he resigns.

Other agitational programmes also have been planned. On the implementation of recommendations of Kasthurirangan and Madhav Gadgil panel reports, LDF is of the view that apprehensions of the farmers in the high ranges should be resolved through discussions. Viswan said though the LDF boycotted the all-party meeting on Kasturirangan report, it had already given their opinion in writing.
