Four child marriages scheduled to be held on Sunday and Monday were stopped by the timely intervention of the court on Saturday.
Child marriage prohibition officer of Ottappalam, Beena told Express that the Pattambi court stopped the marriages of a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old in Vallapuzha panchayat, near Ottappalam, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday. The court also stopped the marriage of a 15-year-old girl which was to be held here on Monday.
Child marriage prohibition officer of Mannarkad, Rema told Express that the marriage of a 14-yr-old of Thachanattukara panchayat, near Mannarkad, scheduled to be held on Sunday was also stopped on Saturday following an order issued by the Mannarkad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.
