KOCHI: The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Thursday sent the four accused persons who organised the ‘illegal party’ on a luxury boat to police custody for three days.

The court issued a production warrant on a request by the police before sending the accused to police custody. According to the petition filed by the police, since the investigation into the case was on, the accused, Shijin Sreekumar, Prasanth Varghese, Edward Antony and Elizabeth Antony, were required in police custody for further interrogation.

The police, in the petition, stated that the suppliers of the ganja seized from the boat were not nabbed yet, and that the accused persons were to be quizzed about the matter. The police also produced 12 cartons of beer, 16 bottles of liquor and a small quantity of ganja as evidence before the court. Considering the petition, the court sent the accused persons into police custody until 2 pm on Saturday.
