PALAKKAD: ‘Kuruthichaal waterfalls’ in Kumuramputhur panchayat of Mannarkad has turned out to be a death trap for visitors.As the water flow in Kuruthichaal has increased manifold with the monsoon gaining strength, it is high time the picnickers are warned of keeping a safe distance from the swirling waters.A warning board in the spot sheds light on the accidental deaths in 2013 that claimed 5 lives. The tourists are hardly aware of the dangerously strong undercurrents and whirlpools that lay under the crystal clear waters of ‘Kuruthichaal’.
