MT Chosen for Kerala Ratna Award

THRISSUR: Eminent writer M T Vasudevan Nair has been chosen for the Kerala Ratna Award, the literary prize instituted by Paul Valappila Trust in memory of veteran journalist and social and political activist Paul Valappila.

The award consists of a cash prize of `1 lakh, a citation and a memento. Syro-Malankara Church head Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos will present the award to M T Vasudevan Nair at a function to be held in Casino Auditorium here on August 11.

Minister for Cooperation C N Balakrishnan will inaugurate the programme and distribute education endowment and financial aid for treatment and free housing project of Paul Valappila Trust. Corporation Mayor Rajan J Pallan will preside over the function.
