Employees Want Basic Facilities First

KAKKANAD: The staff association meeting held at the collectorate on Monday posted a strong protest against the new project to install surveillance cameras in the collectorte.

The hasty attitude of the district administration in implementing the project has drawn flak from various quarters.

The meeting observed that the district administration is yet to fix even basic infrastructure for employees and visitors.

“The District Collector has not yet consulted with the staff council or the association about the project. At present, the administration fails to provide even basic services like toilets, parking shed, regular power supply, dining room, among other things,” said a member of the staff council.

“If they cannot arrange proper power facilities, what is the use of a zooming surveillance camera?” he added.

Besides, the administration doesn’t even have enough number of shelves for the files or information sign boards.
