I-Day Celebration in Amritapuri

KOLLAM: The messages of love and peace were symbolically conveyed to the students through a ‘Bharat Mata Pooja’, as Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara (AYUDH) organised the celebrations of the 68th Independence Day in Amritapuri.

Hundreds of lamps spiraled around in traditional aarti and flowers were showered on ‘Bharat Mata’, as tricolor rangolis and paintings created the mood for celebrating one’s attachment with Mother India, Mata Amritanandamayi Math said in a press release.

The three-day celebrations had commenced by paying tribute to the great warriors and freedom fighters, whose sacrifices formed the nation. The need for all Indians to remain united as a single soul was emphasised.

The celebrations, that include a face-paint selfie contest and painting competitions, will conclude with a Cleanup Drive of the Clappana Panchayat on August 15, the release said.
