CPM Action against Rebels in Kuttikol Soon

KASARGOD: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has decided to take action against 11 party members, including Kuttikol panchayat president P Gopalan Master, for anti-party activity.

On Tuesday, the rebels came out in the open and hoisted the party flag at parallel functions to mark the P Krishna Pillai Day, making their rebellion public for the first time in nearly three years. The decision to recommend action against the rebels was taken at the District Secretariat which met at Thirkaripur. Apart from Gopalan Master, the Secretariat also decided to recommend action against former Area Committee Secretary P Diwakaran and now a District Committee member, and Area Committee member G Rajesh Babu. On Tuesday, the rebels hoisted party flags at 28 of the nearly 100 branches in Kuttikol area. In Kuttikol, nearly 400 people attended the rebel function. P Raghavan, former MLA and member of the CPM District Secretariat, told Express that the party need not have any soft corner for the rebel leaders.
