THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited(KMML), Chavara, where a gas leak occurred early this month leaving some of the school students hospitalised, will continue to remain closed till a report to ensure safety measures at the plant is received.
In a meeting of Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty and Labour Minister Shibu Baby John, held at the behest of various trade unions in the company here on Wednesday, the Industries Minister said that people’s safety would be the government’s priority.
Kunhalikutty told the trade union representatives that the government will have to wait till a report on safety measures is received which will ensure the foolproof measures being taken against gas leaks.
