KAKKANAD : With just two weeks left for Onam, the Thrikkakara temple has already plunged into festive spirit. The temple committee has made every arrangement for the smooth conduct of the festival that will begin on August 29.
“Thousands of devotees from different communities will attend the programmes to be organised by the temple committee as part of the 10-day celebrations that will conclude with the ‘Thiruvonasadhya’. We are expecting as many as 10,000 people for the ‘Ona sadhya’,” said Radhakrishna Pillai, president, Temple Administrative Committee.
The celebrations will start with hoisting of the festive flag on Atham day, which falls on August 29. “We have organised several programmes as a part of the fest, including musical fest, Ottam Thullal, Thayambaka, Kathra prasangam, drama and Chakyar koothu,” he said.
Apart from the fest, a ‘pakalpooram’ will be held on the final day where over 10,000 will take part.
