Rs 3,500 Bonus for Govt Staff

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has announced ad hoc bonus and festival allowance for government employees, employees of government-aided educational institutions, full-time contingent employees and other categories of staff.

All government employees including the personal staff of ministers, Speaker, Opposition leader, Deputy Speaker, Government chief whip, all-India officers working in connection with the affairs of the state, employees of aided educational institutions and employees of Panchayat raj institutions drawing total emoluments up to Rs 18,150 in the pre-revised and revised scale of pay as on March 31,2014, will be paid ad hoc bonus of Rs 3,500.

The emoluments include the basic pay, personal pay, special pay, special allowance, personal allowance, and dearness allowance at 73 per cent of the basic pay in the revised scale but minus HRA and other compensatory allowances.

“The ad hoc bonus will be admissible to such employees who were on service as on March 31, 2014, and have at least 6 months of service.

Those who have retired from or even relieved from service on or before March 31, 2014, and had put in six months of continuous service during the financial year 2013-14 will also be eligible for ad hoc bonus Those who are not eligible to ad hoc bonus will be given the special festival allowance of Rs 2,200.

Persons working as substitutes in place of regular employees in government casual labourers and CLR workers who have put in 200 days work will be eligible to get 30 days wages as bonus. The minimum amount will be Rs 910.

The teachers and ayahs of single teacher school will be given Rs 1,000. Ayahs and teachers of pre primary schools run by PTAs will get Rs 800. Cooks of preliminary schools will be given Rs 1,000.

Anganwadi and balawadi workers will get Rs 900 as bonus. Sweepers with consolidated remuneration will get Rs 670. Teachers and non-teaching staff of Special schools will be given Rs 500.

Onam Advance

The government has also announced Rs 10,000 as Onam advance for government employees. The amount will be recovered in five equal instalments. The advance will be disbursed from September 3.

Part-time contingent employees, regular employees of Agriculture farms, NMR workers, seasonal workers, dredger workers in Alappuzha, workers in PWD Regional depot will be given Rs  2,000 as advance.
