KOLLAM: The CBI on Thursday arrested Venjaramoodu CI Vijayan in connection with the murder attempt on ASI Babukumar.
The CI was in the list of accused for sabotaging the case and destroying evidence. The arrest was recorded after the CBI team led by Inspectors K P Thomas and K J Darwin summoned Vijayan to the Chinnakada Rest House. So far, five people have been arrested in connection with the case. Vijayan was the CI at the East police station when Babukumar was attacked.
The first accused Vinesh alias Jinda Ani is now on bail. Unnithan case alibi ‘Container’ Santhosh, Unnithan case accused Punjiri Mahesh and Happy Rajesh murder case accused Penti Edwinare the other arrested in this case.
