KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday dismissed the bail plea of two accused in a case related to the suicide of Venjaramoodu native Raveendran who was allegedly blackmailed by a gang.
Justice Alexander Thomas passed the order while dismissing bail plea of fourth accused Jacob Thomas alias Pratheesh of Udayamperoor and fifth accused Sanalan of Vaduthala.
According to the prosecution, the accused persons including Bindhyas Thomas alias Soorya, Ruksana and Jayachandran, with an intention to threaten and intimidate the deceased Ravindran and his friend Saji Kumar and extort money, had recorded the sexual acts on video. According to the police, the petitioners were also involved in the crime and an investigation is progressing. If they are released on bail, that will affect the probe, police submitted.
