KOCHI: The statement given by Solar scam accused Biju Radhakrishnan, before the Commission probing the case, about the video clips involving his wife Saritha S Nair, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and five others was vague in nature. Biju said he was not able to explain what he saw in the clips.
When the commission asked to clarify his statement, Biju said the videos were about ‘conversation and physical relationship’ between Saritha and six other persons. Later, elaborating the statement he said that five of the video clips were shown to Oommen Chandy after Saritha was arrested, while a sixth one was not shown to him because the video was of the CM himself.
Biju’s advocate Mohankumar opined that the statement of Biju did not specify whether the video of Oommen Chandy was a ‘sex tape’, or not.
“Biju in his statement said the content of the videos were ‘conversations and physical relationship’ involving six prominent persons and Saritha S Nair. It will be made clear during the cross examination by the Commission, to be held next day,” added Mohan Kumar.
In 2014, Biju had raised allegations against political leaders, ministers and other prominent persons in a written statement submitted to the to Solar Commission in 2014.
In the statement, he had mentioned about the video tapes, and had then promised to submit the tapes within 15 days. However, the evidence is yet to reach the Commission even after one year.
