Bengal Maoist Leader Arrested in Idukki

IDUKKI:  A West Bengal native, said to be a Maoist leader in that State, was arrested by Nedumkandam Police from a private estate at Myladumpara in Udumbanchola here on Wednesday.The arrested has been identified as Sidharth Mondel (27) of Midnapur village in West Bengal. He was arrested from a private cardamom estate at Myladumpara in Udumbanchola here. District Police Chief K V Joseph told ‘Express’’ that he was wanted in some cases in West Bengal and that his arrest was made by the Nedumkandam Police following a request from the West Bengal Intelligence Bureau.According to sources, Mondel was on the run since an arrest warrant was issued against him.
