Biju's Allegations Baseless: Antony

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Senior Congress leader A K Antony has said that solar scam-accused Biju Radhakrishnan’s allegations against the chief Minister were baseless. Affirming his support for Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Antony said he sympathised with the opposition for taking up a baseless allegation raised by a criminal case-accused.  “The opposition’s stand is unfortunate. But the people of the state will deem it regard to that levelled by an accused in a criminal case,” he said.

Antony blamed the media for giving unnecessary importance to Biju’s allegations. “I wish the mediapersons do sufficient homework before taking up such issues,” he said.Antony attributed the poor performance of the Congress in the recent local self government elections to over-confidence of the front.

He said the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS), the political party launched by Vellappally was part of the RSS agenda. “The party is no threat to the UDF. Vellappally’s attempt to create a divide among different communities in the state will not meet with success,” he said.
