The Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam, started with a grand proclamation rally of 60 vehicles from Thrikkunnathu Seminary, Aluva, where the Holy Sepulchre of Mar Athanasius, the patron saint of Mar Athanasius College is situated. Dr Winny Varghese, secretary of Mar Athanasius College Association, received the portrait of Paulose Mar Athanasius, the patron saint of the college from Kuriakose Mor Eusebius, Metropolitan of Angamaly Diocese of Kothamangalam region at a function organised at the seminary. The rally carrying the portrait of Mar Athanasius then marched towards Mar Thomas Cheria Pally, the location of the Holy Sepulchre of Saint Eldho Mar Baseliose.
There will be a grand cultural fest including a magical show by Gopinath Muthukad, fusion music by Stephen Devassy, a dance performance by Asha Sarath, musical performance by Franco, Vidhu Prathap and Renjini Jose and a Rock band by Thaikudam Bridge.
