KOLLAM: A woman died after she got crushed between the train and the platform at the Kollam Railway Station around 7.30 am on Sunday. According to the railway police, the victim, identified as Meherban, 47, of Pallimukku, here, mistakenly boarded the pantry coach of Parashuram Express. The train started moving as she alighted from the pantry and tried to hop onto the next coach. Meherban slipped and fell into the gap between the train and the platform. The body, which was taken to the Kollam District Hospital, was handed over to the relatives.
