KOLLAM:The District Panchayat has bagged the award for the best panchayat in the state for its initiatives in the overall development of the district and for utilising most of the funds. The award would be presented by CM Oommen Chandy in T’Puram on Thursday.
Dist Panchayat president S Jayamohan said that half the prize money would be spent for realising the goal of free dialysis for the increasing number of kidney patients in the district. The rest would be utilised for building a museum in the name of eminent Ayurveda doctor K Rajagopalan.
