HC Imposes Litigation Cost on Officers Club

KOCHI:The Kerala High Court has imposed a litigation cost of Rs 25,000 to the office-bearers of Thiruvananthapuram Officers Club for wasting the time of the court and dismissed the petition filed by it against the proceedings initiated by the government to evict it from the leased out government land.  Justice P R Ramachandra Menon directed the petitioner to pay the amount to the mediation centre. The government had leased out 22 cents of the property for the Officer’s Club in 1996, for 10 years. After the period expired, the government issued notice asking them to vacate the land.
