New Ration Cards from September 1

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  New ration cards will be in effect in the state from September 1, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob has said.

“A total of 83,16,746 ration cards in the state are to be renewed. Temporary cards will be issued for emergency requirements like  passport application,” the minister told the Assembly on Monday.

“Onam fairs will be launched in all districts and Assembly constituencies on August 10. The Supplyco will conduct mini-vegetable fairs. The government has sanctioned `64 crore for Ramzan-Onam fairs,” the Minister  said.
