P C Thomas Bloc Lashes out at CPM

KOTTAYAM:In what could be viewed as the exit of the Kerala Congress faction led by P C Thomas from the Left Democratic Front (LDF), the party leadership has come out in public with criticism against the coalition leadership. According to Kerala Congress state media convener Cheriyan P, the LDF’s stance towards the Kerala Congress has been undemocratic and deceptive, for more than six months.

Flaying the LDF’s decision to retain the Scaria Thomas faction of the Kerala Congress in the coalition, Cheriyan alleged that the unholy nexus between some corrupt CPM leaders and Scaria Thomas was behind the decision.

“The Kerala Congress has already expelled Scaria Thomas from the party for anti-party activities. Action was taken against him as per the party constitution. However, the LDF leadership has retained Scaria and his supporters in the LDF, while keeping the Kerala Congress out of the coalition,” he said.

According to Cheriyan, the the CPM stance towards the Kerala Congress was similar to its stance against Veerendra Kumar-led Janata Dal and the RSP. “ We suspect an unholy nexus between some CPM leaders and Scaria behind the decision,” he said.
