KOLLAM:In a move which may give new headache to the UDF camp, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) general secretary T J Chandrachoodan has come down heavily on the UDF Government and the Congress central leadership. He used scathing remarks to attack the government and the leadership while speaking to the media here on Monday.

‘’Many acts of the State Government had put the allies in an embarrassing situation. As the allegations of corruption go unchecked, the present government has become the most corruption-tainted overnment in the history of political Kerala. Though the government had egg on its face, it’s saying that they are yet to get evidence in matters relating to corruption. Do you think the people will believe that?’’ asked Chandrachoodan.

According to him, the government will have to start a clean-up drive in which tainted persons have to be shown the door.  In a harsh reference to the Congress central leadership, the RSP leader said, ‘’the mother and her son will dismantle the Congress party,’’ referring to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

‘’In the seats of Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel some inept people are sitting now. The Congress had no leadership at the centre. The man entrusted to lead the party has gone missing for about 60 days and the party leadership gropes in the dark for answers. It seems that after the humiliation in the polls, the Congress in nowhere in the picture now,’’ Chandrachoodan said. His comments come at a time when the Chief Minister is trying to mollify the JD(U) state leadership which was agitated over certain  issues.

Though the RSP leadership had earlier staked its claim for the Aruvikkara Assembly seat, which fell vacant following the demise of former Speaker G Karthikeyan, the Congress camp decided to field its own candidate.
