KOLLAM:An accused in a murder case here was arrested by the police on Thursday after 10 years.

According to Crime Branch officials, he was wanted in connection with the murder of Thomas alias Muthan, 45, of Mangad. “The incident in this regard happened in September 2005. Muthan was clubbed to death by Rajeev due to personal rivalry. It is said that Muthan had earlier attacked Rajeev and this resulted in the animosity between the two which lead to the murder of the latter,’’ said Crime Branch DySP N A Baiju.

The case which was first investigated by the Kilikolloor police was later handed over to the Crime Branch about five months back as no progress was made in the same. The Crime Branch officials said that the accused will be produced in the Kollam Judicial First Class Magistrate court and it will seek his custody for further investigation.
