Youth Arrested for Stealing Computers

THRISSUR:East Police here on Monday arrested a person for allegedly stealing as many as 11 laptops from an educational institution here.

Youth Arrested.jpgThe arrested person is Libin,24, of Nilappana Veedu in Chalakkudy.

Libin, who was an employee at Keltron Regional Education Campus at Naduvilal in Thrissur had also allegedly stolen computers worth Rs 1.7 lakh along with five bar code readers.

 Police said that the person joined the institution eight months ago and started stealing laptops, perssonal computers and other gadgets starting from February this year.

 The laptops he had stolen were kept at the campus for taking the photographs of persons for updating the ration cards. 

Police, who questioned the arrested person, said that he was crazy about bike racing and had caused several accidents on roads.

The money he got by selling the stolen commodities were used to repair the damaged bike.  It is learnt that he sold the stolen laptops for Rs  5,000.

A team of policemen led by SI of East Police Station nabbed Libin.
