KOCHI: The Customs Department on Tuesday arrested a passenger at the Nedumbassery airport while trying to smuggle gold biscuits concealed in his rectum.
Kabeer of Kanjur, Kalady, had stuffed as many as six gold biscuits, weighing around 100 gm each, inside his body. The gold, valued around Rs 16.5 lakh in the market, was seized while Kabeer was trying to exit through the green channel. According to officials, Kabeer looked nervous when questioned, following with the official subjected him to a detailed physical examination.
