THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Schools which do not have adequate toilet facilities will not be allowed to function in the upcoming academic year, Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb said here on Thursday. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, Abdu Rabb said the Education Department “has taken a serious note” of the Health Department’s action of slapping notices on nearly 800 schools in the state for lack of proper toilet facilities.
“Since there are a few more weeks left for the academic year to begin, such schools should address the shortcomings immediately, failing which they will not be allowed to function,” the Minister said.
