VS Trying to Fool People : KC(M)

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress (M) termed the reported statement of Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan, that the rescheduling of  the Central Zone UDF jatha has vindicated corruption charges against K M Mani, as naive and curious.

Achuthanandan was the one who had given a statement before the Vigilance probe team, as the complainant in the case, that he has no evidence to substantiate the allegations against Finance Minister K M Mani but framed his contentions on the basis of various news reports only.

The complainant who has pleaded before the probe team that he has no

evidence to submit, but keeps his demand for punishment alive is nothing but mocking the law and justice in the land, flayed Kerala Congress (M) state general secretary Joseph M Puthuserry.

“He is trying to fool the people”, he added, also pointing out that the conduct of the jatha and the vigilance probe has no connection as alleged by the Opposition Leader.

“The Opposition Leader is making a vain bid to use the change in timing of a jatha to create a smoke screen as he had attempted through a  volley of allegations”, he charged.

“All this is being attempted when many complaints he had received while he was the Chief Minister, including one which was submitted by the then Democratic Youth Federation of India Kannur secretary, didn’t see the light of the day”, said the Kerala Congress (M)  secretary in a statement.

Blasting Achuthanandan further, the KC(M) ridiculed that the Opposition Leader has once again proved that over and above his much-touted anti-corruption talk, he is led by crass opportunism for survival.”

It was evident by him joining hands with a person like R Balakrishna Pillai”, Joseph M Puthuserry said.
