IInd Rank is Beyond My Expectations: Marium

KOCHI: When the Kerala Medical Entrance Examination results were announced on Wednesday by Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb, Marium Raphy and her family went into a celebratory mood as she bagged the second rank with an excellent score of 944.3478.

Residing at Aluva with her parents and siblings, Marium says: “I was hoping to fall in the first 10, but the second rank was highly unexpected.” Marium was a student of Abu Dhabi Indian Islahi Islamic School till standard six and continued her education in Crescent Public School, Aluva.Marium says it was only after standard ten that she started dreaming of becoming a doctor. Reinforcing her dreams was her sister Fahiba Raphy, who is currently a third-year medical student at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. Marium who was busy answering phone calls from her teachers and friends her says she will decide where to join only after the AIIMS entrance results are out.  “I wish to study medicine at AIIMS with my sister. Otherwise I would love to pursue it in Kerala.”

Marium Raphy is the daughter of businessman Abdu Raphy and homemaker Ancy Raphy. She is the second amongst five children.
