Admn Panel Meet Today

THRISSUR: A meeting of the Administrative Committee will be held at the High Court on Wednesday to appoint the Principal District and Sessions Judge at the District Court in Thrissur. Special Public Prosecutor in the Chandrabose murder case C P Udayabhanu said  he would decide on the judge and the court for conducting the trial in the case only after the appointment of the judge.  “Most probably the Principal District and Sessions Judge will be the trial judge and next hearing on June 5 will be held in his court,” Udayabhanu said.

 “The prosecution is not obliged to hand over the statement, recorded by the magistrate under Section 164 of CrPC, to the accused. As a plea in this regard is pending before the HC, the court could ask the magistrate or the prosecution to hand over the copy of the statement,” he added.
