State Police Chief Steps Down

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:State police chief K S Balasubramanian stepped down from his post on Saturday after a stupendous service of two-and-a-half years. He will hand over the baton to state police chief designate T P Senkumar officially on Sunday.

A 1978 batch IPS officer, Balasubramanian is noted for his soft-spoken nature and a remarkable career of 37 years. His service was free from any major controversies. During the farewell parade organised at the Special Armed Police Camp at Peroorkada, Balasubramanian greeted the police force. He responded to the media that he was distressed by the needless allegations about his involvement in the Mohammed Nisham case.
