Kerala Bishop Finds Beef Festival Off-putting

KOTTAYAM:While responding to the controversy that erupted over the ‘Beef Fest’ conducted by SFI activists on the CMS College campus recently, Rev Dr Thomas K Oommen, CSI’s Deputy Moderator, said that such mode of protests would make a negative impact on society.

The Bishop said that he could not agree with such kind of protests but maintained that food choice is highly personal. “We are not against the freedom to respond to public issues but the methods are being questioned,” he said here on Thursday. 

The Bishop added the college managements have not shackled the freedom of students on the campus.
