With the noose of disqualification tightening around him, the beleaguered former Government Chief Whip and suspended Kerala Congress (M) leader.

KOTTAYAM:With the noose of disqualification tightening around him, the beleaguered former Government Chief Whip and suspended Kerala Congress (M) leader, P C George MLA is likely to put in his papers soon. While Kerala Congress (secular), George’s former political party, which was rejuvenated by his supporters recently, almost got a fair deal in the seat sharing talks with Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the local body polls in Kottayam, George considers it as the right time to take a decision.

Moreover, he plans to pass the blame on Speaker N Sakthan’s decision to fix final hearing on his disqualification petition on October 12. George told ‘Express’ that, as an MLA, he cannot attend the hearing on Monday, since he will be in the rush of the electioneering to the local body polls on these days.

“Local body election is the basic, and most important step in a democratic system and as an MLA I have the responsibility of selecting the best candidates in my constituency. If I am not allowed to fulfil my democratic obligations, I will resign (from the post of MLA) and will go to the people, briefing my stance,” he said.

Speaker has decided to conduct the final hearing on the disqualification of P C George, on October 12.
