KOZHIKODE: The news of the death of P Raneesh, 28, the CISF constable who died after his colleague opened fire at him while on duty at Ratnagiri Gas & Power Private Ltd in Maharashtra, has come as a shocker to his family at Mayancheripoyil in Chenoli, near Perambra.

The family got the confirmation message about Raneesh’s untimely death from two CISF jawans who reached the house to pass on the information. However, they are yet to get full details about the incident.

Raneesh is survived by father Raghavan Nambiar, mother Kamala, an elder brother who is with CRPF and a younger sister. It was in December that Raneesh had come home on a one month leave. Raneesh joined CISF six years ago.

His body will reach Calicut International Airport at Karipur on Thursday morning and  will be taken to his house where the last rites will be held with state honours.
